YOUR HOLIDAYS IN THE PERIGORD

The Dordogne invites you to discover its climate, its gastronomy, its nature, its remarkable architecture, its leisure and relaxation, its wine regions and its folklore.

WHY IS IT SO GOOD TO LIVE HERE?

You are not the first to ask this question (and to have found the answer by coming here).

Prehistoric man had already chosen the Dordogne more than 400,000 years ago. Then it was the turn of the Gauls, the Romans and the Franks to succumb to the singular magic of the area and leave the remarkable imprints of their civilisations that you can see on the many dedicated sites they have left us.

Closer to now, the Dordogne River served as a border between France and England during the Hundred Years' War. On its banks and beyond, a thousand and one legendary castles tell of centuries of conquest and pageantry. The discovery of this rich and preserved past will delight young and old.

In 2012, the Dordogne River was awarded the UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve label, proof of the great environmental richness and quality of the water. You can swim in peace and quiet or paddle on it, listening to a guide or paddling with your own arms.

Perrot en Périgord is situated in the heart of this beautiful nature, on the wine route, near the medieval city of Sarlat, the Lascaux caves and the valley of a thousand and one castles. From here you can quickly reach all these places, the surrounding bastides and the Dordogne river.
