The Pink Ribbon is an annual campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer that was launched in 1985. It originated in the USA and first appeared in France in 1994, on the initiative of Marie Claire magazine and the Estée Lauder group. This collaboration gave rise to the association Le Cancer du Sein, Parlons-en! Many years later, in 2020, the organisation simply changed its name to Ruban Rose.
From 1 October to 31 October each year, numerous campaigns are held to raise public awareness of breast cancer, inform people about the importance of early cancer detection and raise funds for research.
